BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY — Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Force Construction plans to conduct a series of rolling slow-downs on Wednesday and Friday this week on I-65 SB in Bartholomew County. Traffic will be slowed to 45 mph for five-to-10 minutes at a time between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. near the Deaver Road overpass for stone and equipment delivery.
Motorists should use extra caution in the area and watch for slowed traffic. Electronic message boards and queue trucks will be on-site to help warn drivers of changing conditions.
The superstructure replacement on Deaver Road marks the start of work on a $65 million contract that includes the addition of a third travel lane on I-65 between State Road 58 and State Road 46, bridge widening and rehabilitation, structure replacement, and asphalt resurfacing from the Driftwood River Bridge to U.S. 31 at Taylorsville. Additional traffic impacts are scheduled to begin later this spring. The contract was awarded in October and is expected to be complete in summer 2023.
All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
