Asbury United Methodist Church — Asbury is offering a limited in-person traditional service at 8:45 a.m. and a limited in-person contemporary service at 11 a.m.

J.A.M. (Jesus and Me) Children’s church is at 11 a.m. There are no Sunday school classes at this time.

Asbury Kids for children first through sixth grade meet each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. There will be a fun activity, snack, Bible story, and a time of prayer. Email Heidi at [email protected] to get your children registered.

Community Church of Columbus — Community Church of Columbus is offering Tuesday Connection. The sessions are a collection of various support and educational groups. The 10-part, in-person series started on Feb. 23. Sessions will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Child care is provided.

East Columbus Christian Church — East Columbus Christian Church is open for in-person worship on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. Masks are required and social distancing is expected. The church also has online worship available through Facebook and YouTube.

Youth meet at the church from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and children’s ministry meets through Zoom on Wednesdays at 5 p.m.

East Columbus United Methodist — The church is now offering in-person worship on Sunday mornings.

Worship begins at 9:30 a.m. in the sanctuary with the implementation of the recommended in-person worship guidelines. Masks are required to enter the building. Seating is every other pew and pre-packaged communion supplies are used. Holy Communion is served the first Sunday of each month.

Sunday school is held immediately following the morning service, with classrooms arranged to follow social distancing guidelines. Sunday evening services have been suspended until further notice. The weekly morning service will continue to be available for viewing online through the church’s Facebook and YouTube pages.

Fairlawn Presbyterian — Weekly worship services are on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. via Zoom. Links and numbers are below or you can check fairlawnpc.net or visit the church’s Facebook page for login and phone information.

Faith Lutheran Church — The church livestreams worship each Sunday at 9 a.m. along with daily devotions Monday through Thursday each week at 7 a.m. on the church’s Facebook page. The congregation also meets for in-person services each Sunday morning at 9 a.m. and Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. following recommended health guidelines.

First Christian Church — The church is offering services in person and online at 9 and 10:30 a.m. The 9 a.m. service is reserved for those 65 and older and the 10:30 a.m. service is open to all ages.

First Baptist — First Baptist welcomes all to join them at 9:30 a.m. for in person or at firstbaptistcolumbus.org/video for their livestreamed service. Recordings of the services are also available.

First Lutheran Church — The church offers in-person worship on Sunday mornings at 8:45 a.m. for the classic service and 11:15 a.m. for the casual service. Livestreaming of both services can be accessed on electronic devices at www.youtube.com/user/FLCColumbus.

First Presbyterian — The church will have a service via livestream at 9:30 a.m. Sunday on Facebook and Zoom. Join in at https://www. facebook.com/groups/56933406910/ or https://zoom.us/j/214025301.

Those in the community in need of a meal are invited to the Hot Meals program, which is offered Friday at 5 p.m. The church is an LGBTQ-friendly church.

First United Methodist — On March 14, at 10 a.m., Reverend Howard Boles will deliver the message “What We Bring to the Cross: Condemnation.”

The scripture will be John 3:14-21. This service will run concurrent with the 10 a.m. Facebook livestream. Those who are attending in person are encouraged to arrive 10 minutes before the service and use either the Eighth Street or Lafayette Street doors.

Hand sanitizer will be available at the entrances to the sanctuary. Masks are required while in the building, and masks will be available if you don’t have one. The church will be practicing social distancing, and will be taking other precautions to help ensure everyone’s health and safety.

Flintwood Wesleyan — Masks/facial coverings are required to enter the building for services on Sundays and Wednesdays at all times unless seated and socially distanced in the sanctuary.

Sunday morning worship begins at 9 a.m. with The Amplify (contemporary) service. Sunday school has been dismissed until further notice. The Well service (traditional) begins at 11 a.m. Both worship services are led by Pastor Wesley Jones. The church’s Sunday Amplify services are streamed on Facebook and YouTube live at 9 a.m.

Sunday evening is devoted to Celebrate Recovery meetings. The meetings are designed to assist in ridding hurts, habits, and hang-ups. Meeting begin at 6 p.m. with getting to know each other, singing, and a lesson are open to the public. At 7 p.m., there is an open share meeting that splits into a group for women and a group for men. Safe child care is available.

The Church Beginnings, a small group Bible study, meets on Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. in the Friendship Center. The group is studying the Book of Acts and new members are welcome.

Wednesday activities are dismissed due to Spring Break. Regular schedule resumes March 24.

The annual Easter egg hunt is scheduled for April 3. The hunt will begin at 10 a.m. with registration at 9:30 a.m. More information will be given closer to date.

Grace Lutheran — The church hosts Sunday worship services at 8 and 10:30 a.m. in-person and livestreamed at www.gracecolumbus.org.

The message for the Fourth Sunday in Lent is “We need not just scolding but salvaging,” based on John 3:14-21.

“Questions even Christians ask about Christianity,” Grace Lutheran’s Lenten Sermon Series, continues with the message, “Why does God demand blood sacrifice?” on March 17. Worship is at 6:30 p.m. in person and online at www.grace columbus.org.

Newbern United Methodist Church — The church is practicing strict COVID-19 preventative measures. Masks are required. All activities are postponed until further notice except for Sunday service at 10:30 a.m. and online Bible study each Wednesday at 7 p.m. via Zoom.

North Christian Church — The church is continuing Sunday services at 10:30 a.m. each Sunday morning via YouTube. Search North Christian Church Columbus Indiana to join.

Join the conversation via Zoom on Tuesdays at 3:30 p.m. The church will continue to explore Biblical characters whose lives unraveled. Each session is wholly independent from the others. Participants can choose to come and go as able. There is no book to purchase or any advance reading to complete.

The staff continues to work remotely. No building access is available at this time. The church will continue to monitor this ever-changing situation and update their response as appropriate.

Old Union United Church of Christ — Scriptures for the 10 a.m. Sunday service, The Fourth Sunday of Lent, will include Numbers 21:4-9, Ephesians 2:1-10, and John 3:14-21. The message will be “Love is in the Air.”

The church has applied social distancing guidelines. Face coverings are required, but can be provided by the church for those that need one. Seating is spaced two arm-widths apart for non-relatives. Seating is every other pew and there will be no fellowship in the basement, no passing of the peace, and no handshaking or hugging.

Petersville United Methodist Church — Petersville United Methodist Church will have in-person worship on Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. Masks are required and are available in the entrance of the church, along with sanitizer. The offering basket also will be placed there.

United Methodist men, United Methodist women, and Bible study groups may start meeting in the Fellowship Hall, but each group will be responsible for cleaning the area they use. There will not be Sunday School classes or Fellowship time available just yet.

Pastor Rebecca Milne will bring the message “Different Pictures/Intellectual Health” based on a series called “Holy Vessels.” The morning’s scripture is Matthew 9:18-26. Teresa Covert will bring the children’s message.

At the conclusion of the service, persons are to exit the building beginning with the back pews first.

Sandy Hook United Methodist — Sandy Hook United Methodist church gathers weekly for in-person worship. The church offers two services. The traditional service is at 8:45 a.m. and the contemporary service is at 11 a.m.

On the Fourth Sunday of Lent, March 14, Pastor Paul Dazet will bring a message about “Us for Them” as part of the sermon series “JONAH…FOR LENT.”

Fellowship time will not take place, nor will there be any Sunday school classes, children’s church, or nursery services. Online services can be found on the church Facebook page or YouTube channel.

Those attending are asked to wear masks, and they will be available if needed. Seating will be marked and will be socially distanced. Attendees should not gather in groups inside the church.

The church will have two Easter services. Traditional at 8:45 a.m. and Celebration at 11 a.m. Masks will be required and social distancing will be happening. Nursery services will be available for both services.

St. Paul Episcopal Church — In-person worship has resumed at the church, 2651 California St., Columbus, with Sunday Eucharistic services at 8 a.m. (Rite 1) and 10:15 a.m. (Rite 2).

The church follows a strict protocol that includes masks, social distancing, and no singing.

Zoom is used to livestream the 10:15 a.m. Sunday service, for participation in the Tuesday morning Bible study at 11 a.m., and the Thursday evening office of Compline at 8 p.m.

St. Paul Lutheran — Pastor Doug Bauman will present the message “Lifted Up,” based on John 3:14-21, Sunday during the 8 and 10:45 a.m. worship services that follow all CDC guidelines for social distancing. Christian fellowship will begin at 9:10 a.m. Christian education for all ages follows at 9:30 a.m. The Spanish worship service will be in the Fellowship Room at 10:45 a.m. with Spanish Sunday school at noon.

A COVID-sensitive Communion service is held each Wednesday at 4:45 p.m. Based on the theme, “Return to the Lord,” a 7 p.m. Lenten devotional service will be held Wednesday in the church with Pastor Bauman presenting the message “From Death to Living Masterpiece” based on Ephesians 2:1-10.

Radio Worship Service is every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. on WYGS 91.1 FM and the Lutheran Hour at 7 p.m. on WYGS 91.1 FM.

Open enrollment for the 2021-22 preschool and kindergarten classes has begun. Classes are available for children who are 3, 4, or 5 by Aug. 1. Extended Care and STEM enrichment are also available.

Bible classes meet at the church Wednesdays at 9 a.m. studying the book of Psalms and the book of Luke at 6 p.m.

Westside Community Church — WCC has resumed in-facility Sunday Worship Service at 10 a.m. Masks are required. Limited seating will be available to allow for distancing. The worship service will also continue to be broadcast in the parking lot on FM 87.9 at 10 a.m.

All other Sunday in-person activities are suspended for the time being.
