COLUMBUS
Robert Glenn Nolting was born on November 2, 1923 in Bartholomew County the son of Ralph and Katie Voelz Nolting.
Robert graduated from Clifford High School in 1941, he was an Army WWII veteran serving in Europe. On December 7, 1946 he married Emma Jane Scott.
Robert was a retired farmer and former County Commissioner. He was a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church where he served as an elder and on other boards and committees.
Due to the Corona virus, A private graveside service will be held at Garland Brook Cemetery with Pastor Mark Teike officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana, St Peter’s Lutheran Church or donor’s choice of charity.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Lou Rittman of Naples, FL; a son, Bill (Diana) Nolting of Columbus; a daughter, Mary (Bob) Edmundson of Hayden, IN; grand-daughters, Christa (David Burns) Sneed of Commiskey, IN, Juliana (Shawn) Stuckey of Brownsburg, IN, Katie (Greg) Lovins of Elizabethtown, IN and Dr. Abbey (Ken) Flora of New Palestine; great grandchildren, Bret (Madisyn) Robbins, Alex Mohr, Cammy Flora, Colby Lovins, Gracie Lovins, Jobey Lovins and Rachel Stuckey; a great-great grandson, Knox Robbins and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Emma Jane Nolting and a sister Katharyne Baute.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Jewell ~ Rittman Family Funeral Home.
