Driftwood reaching flood stage

INDIANAPOLIS — The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a flood warning for Sugar Creek and the Driftwood River near Edinburgh.

This flooding is a result of around 2 inches of rain that fell Wednesday night and Thursday. Flooding will be brief along the smaller creeks and last well into next week along the Wabash River.

For the Driftwood River, flooding is expected from now until Sunday morning. The river was at 10.5 feet Friday morning and flood stage is 11 feet. The Driftwood is expected to rise above flood stage on Friday to a crest of 11.4 feet this morning, and then falling below flood stage tonight.
