SEYMOUR
Edna Lois (Cox) Akers, age 82, a native of Campbellsville, KY and a resident of Seymour, Indiana, passed from this life on Tuesday March 23, 2021 at the Lutheran Community Home in Seymour, Indiana. She was born on May 21, 1938 to the late Edgar Ray Cox and the late Sarah Ethel (Wise) Cox.
Edna will forever be remembered as a loving, giving and protecting lady that was “feisty” and protective of her family, all 4’11” of her. She loved hummingbirds, crochet, and her beloved poodle “Ava”. He choice of cars was always reflective of her personality and loved to drive them fast, many times “too fast”. The family will forever treasure the memories of her pineapple upside down cake and amazing southern cooking.
Edna is survived by her one daughter, LeeAnn VonDielingen and her husband Don of Seymour, Indiana. Two sons, Mark Brown and his wife Linda Rose of Seymour, Indiana and Matt Branum and his significant other Diane Seeley of Seymour, Indiana. Three sisters, Doris Key and her husband Cecil of Columbus, Indiana, Sandy Lambert and her husband Gordon of Scipio, Indiana, Denise Lee of Seymour, Indiana. Five grandchildren, John Brown, Crystal Jones, Megan Hartman, Morgan Kurtz and Marlee Davis. Fourteen great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Charles Cox, Donald Cox and Bobby Cox. Three sisters, Linda Eggersman, Nancy Collier and Sharon Smallwood and one Grandson, Shawn Brown.
The family will receive friends on Saturday March 27, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre in Seymour, Indiana. Services will begin at 1:00 PM at Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre with Bro. Brien Stout officiating.
