Mill Race Center and The Pitman Institute in partnership with IUPUC will once again host Great Decisions at Mill Race Center. The Mill Race Center program has been the largest Great Decisions program in the state for the last several years.
Great Decisions is an eight-week program continuing from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays from April 1 to May 20 via Zoom and also with a limited number of people at Mill Race itself.
Great Decisions is America’s largest discussion program on world affairs and developed by the Foreign Policy Association. Published annually, the Great Decisions Briefing Book highlights eight of the most thought-provoking foreign policy challenges facing Americans. Participants will receive a Great Decisions Briefing Book and have weekly readings to prepare for the lecture and discussion on each of the topics.
Registration is required and can be done by calling Mill Race Center at (812) 376-9241 or stopping in at the center, 900 Lindsey St. in Columbus.
The participation fee is a discounted $25 for Mill Race Center members and $35 for non-members. Class will be held through Zoom with limited number of participants able to Zoom at the center itself. Center staff is offering one-on-one training to help people sign up for Zoom and be prepared for class to start. If Zoom training is needed, people can express that at time of registration.
Registration will remain open until the class has reached its maximum number of participants.
Zoom gives the center an opportunity to attract speakers from all over the country to speak on a broad range of topics. Organizers said they can still have many people in person at the center to take the class. When necessary, the speaker will be displayed via Zoom on the screen. If participants don’t feel comfortable in the building or the class reaches capacity, they can join by Zoom from home.
