Columbus police arrested a Jackson County woman Friday after they determined there was a warrant out for her arrest and later located narcotics in her purse.
Police were sent to Walmart, 735 Whitfield Drive, at 3:30 p.m. Friday about a woman that employees wanted trespassed from the store.
Officers made contact with the woman, Natasha L. Owens, 28, of Freetown, in the parking lot of the store and determined that she had a warrant for her arrest, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman. Owens was taken into custody and officers later located fentanyl inside her purse, Harris said.
Owens was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on the Jennings County arrest warrant and a preliminary charge of possession of a narcotic drug.
She was being held with no bond, jail officials said.
