1) Sixth Street soon could become a kind of entertainment avenue if the proposed Sixth Street Alley Arts Project continues to progress. The Columbus Area Arts Council and the local couple leading the design firm of LAA Office will coordinate a virtual presentation on "Creative Placemaking and the 6th Street Arts Alley Project" from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 8. 2) You can still catch the latest exhibit at the 411 Gallery at 411 Sixth St. in downtown Columbus and meet local artist and furniture designer Steven Baker, whose work is currently on view in a display titled "well-lit room." Baker will be available from 5 to 8 p.m. today. Baker’s artist statement says, “This collection represents an expression of ideas that use forms to challenge light, and in turn, allowing that light to embolden form. Inspiration for this work came from many things here: The postural attitude of a crustacean’s shell, or the top-heavy bend of a flowering stem. The soft filtration of light through shoji screens in a Japanese bedroom…"
3) At press time, Columbus North High School Key Club members were still putting the finishing touches on the Columbus United Virtual Benefit Concert scheduled at 3 p.m. April 3.
