INDIANAPOLIS — Federal investigators have arrested a local man on child exploitation charges and placed him in federal custody.
Jordan Blake Fields, 20, Columbus, is charged in federal court with sexual exploitation, attempted sexual exploitation of a child, and distribution and receipt of child pornography, FBI officials said.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Indianapolis Field Office, in conjunction with the Southern District of Indiana United States Attorney’s Office and the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department, made the arrest March 25 at approximately 9:30 a.m. in Columbus, the FBI said.
The federal complaint alleges that between March 1, 2020 and July 29, 2020, Fields sexually exploited three minor victims by “using each minor or attempting to use each minor to create visual depictions of Minor Victims 1 and 2 engaging in sexually explicit conduct, using materials that led in interstate or foreign commerce.”
The complaint also alleges that between March 1, 2020 and November 13, 2020, Fields “knowingly distributed visual depictions, including by computer, of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct.”
Fields’ known victims were in Brown and Bartholomew counties, but there may be additional victims, investigators said. Law enforcement is encouraging anyone who has a child who may have interacted with Fields, who feels as if any of those interactions could have been sexually inappropriate or was an attempt to “groom” the minor for future sexual interactions, to contact the FBI at 317-595-4000.
Fields’ initial court appearance was on March 26 and he is currently in the custody of the U.S. Marshal Service pending trial, FBI officials said.
