Dance Marathon seeks applications for scholarships

Turning Point Domestic Violence Services Dance Marathon 2021 committee is inviting Bartholomew County high school seniors to apply for one of three $1,000 college scholarships.

This year, seniors may submit a video response that co-stars Turning Point’s purple van "Moby."

From after school until 6 p.m. in their respective school parking lots, Moby will be parked and ready to be the backdrop as seniors record themselves answering the question, "What does it take to make a healthy relationship ‘work’?"

The question directly echoes Turning Point’s 2021 theme of "It Starts with Me," a phrase also incorporated in the van’s design.

Interested high school seniors may locate the Turning Point van at the following locations and dates:

  • April 19: Columbus East High School
  • April 20: Columbus North High School
  • April 21: CSA New Tech
  • April 22: Hauser High School
  • April 23: United Way of Bartholomew County parking lot

Dance Marathon sponsors also may get involved by answering the same question at the van location and having a group photo taken with the van.

Answers form sponsors will be shared through Turning Point’s social media.

Scholarship winners will be announced after April 26. This year’s Dance Marathon fundraising goal is $100,000. With the goal nearing its halfway point, the organization continues to seek sponsors interested in donating to provide funding for continuing prevention programming.
