North gets no-hitter
NORTH VERNON — After three consecutive 1-hitters by the Columbus North pitching staff, Will Baker fired a no-hitter Thursday to lead the Class 4A No. 1 Bull Dogs to a 6-0 win at Jennings County.
Baker struck out 13 and walked one. Zach Wager had a double and two RBIs to lead North (13-0-1) at the plate.
The Panthers fell to 2-3.
Jets rout Mohawks
HOPE — Hauser scored 10 times in the fourth inning to break open a 5-4 game and post a 15-4, five-inning Mid-Hoosier Conference win against Waldron.
Alex Pattingill threw a three-hitter for the Jets (5-4, 3-0). Bryce Trotter went 2 for 2 with two RBIs, Landon Asher went 2 for 3, Sam Miller had a grand slam home run and Frankie Poole had three RBIs.
Lancers fall to Chargers
GREENSBURG — Edinburgh was tied with North Decatur 2-2 after five innings, but the Chargers scored three in the sixth and claimed a 5-2 MHC win.
Gabe Bennett threw a six-hitter for the Lancers (0-5, 0-4), who were limited to two hits.

Bull Dogs down Cardinals
INDIANAPOLIS — Meghan Waggoner and Maddi Rutan combined on a three-hitter, and Columbus North remained unbeaten in Conference Indiana with an 8-1 win at Southport.
Bailey King went 2 for 4 with three RBIs for the Bull Dogs (8-4, 3-0). Rutan went 2 for 4.
Owls rally past East
SEYMOUR — Columbus East jumped out to an early 6-0 lead, but Seymour rallied for a 7-6 Hoosier Hills Conference win.
Addy Ross went 2 for 3, and Kaitlin Brummett went 2 for 4 with a double for the Olympians (2-9, 0-2). Julia Sitterding had a home run and two RBIs, and Kaylee Smith had a double and two RBIs.
Jets blank Mohawks
HOPE — Paige McDaniel and Kaydence Gates combined on a one-hitter to lead Class A co-No. 4 Hauser to a 14-0, five-inning MHC win against Waldron.
Kyra Meister went 2 for 4 with two RBIs, and Morgan Bottoms had a double and four RBIs for the Jets.(9-2, 4-1). Dani Steward added two RBIs.
Chargers top Lancers
GREENSBURG — North Decatur scored five times in the bottom of the seventh to rally for a 7-5 MHC win against Edinburgh.
Gracie Crawhorn went 2 for 3 with three RBIs for the Lancers (4-6, 1-4). Kaitlyn Bailey also went 2 for 3.

Bull Dogs stay perfect
No. 3 Columbus North remained unbeaten with a 5-0 Conference Indiana win at Southport.
Ashlie Wilson beat Claire Striet 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, Kathryn Wilson downed Maddie Lucas 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and Siri Poludasu topped Baylee Watson 7-5, 6-3 at No. 3 singles for the Bull Dogs (6-0, 3-0).
North’s Jaline Tay and Tiffany Fu blanked Annie Sung and Nqua Maui 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles. Zoe Bishop and Sydney Cooper defeated Macey Lucas and Ngun Cer 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.
Olympians snap streak
Columbus East snapped a six-match losing streak with a 4-1 win against Madison.
Cathrine Millwood beat Kourtney Neukam 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, Katie Hong downed Trinity Stoner 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2 singles and Shruthika Kumar topped Grace Pittman 6-3, 7-5 at No. 3 singles for the Olympians (2-6). Cassidy Schnur and Monica Burton outlasted Blanca Alaman Duran and Maddie Cline 6-3, 1-6, 6-4 at No. 1 doubles.
East’s Katey Rieckers and Betsy Hoene fell to Hailey Jenkins and Addison Mundt 6-1, 6-4 at No. 2 doubles.
Mohawks edge Jets
WALDRON — Waldron won three competitive matches to pull out a 3-2 MHC win against Hauser.
Kaitlynn Everroad won by forfeit at No. 3 singles for the Jets (4-3, 2-1). Charlie Clark and Gabby Johns beat Josee Larrison and Kiera Ziegler 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2 doubles.
Hauser’s Andie Clark fell to Caroline Schaeffer 6-4, 6-3 at No. 1 singles, and Bella Kilps lost to Nichole Garner 7-5, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. Aunaka Wasil and Emily Harker fell to MacKenzie Shaw and Megan Bogemann 6-3, 7-6 (2) at No. 1 doubles.
Panthers nip Stars
NORTH VERNON — Jennings County swept the singles matches in a 3-2 win against Bedford North Lawrence.
Reagan Brown beat Rachel Kidd 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, Tatum Brown downed Emily Duncan 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2 singles and Carmen Kopitzke topped Becca Epping 6-4, 6-0 at No. 3 singles for the Panthers (7-1).
Jennings’ Liz Ertel and Sydney Carson fell to Isabella Stigall and Mallory Pride 4-6, 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles. Cassidy Mull and Hannah Green lost to Kenley Craig and Izzy Aldredge 6-2, 6-4 at No. 2 doubles.
BOYS GOLF
Jets finish third
BATESVILLE — Hauser finished third with a 220 in a tri match at Batesville. North Decatur edged Batesville 191-193 for the win.
Caleb Wallace led the Jets with a 52. Chase Martoccia carded a 53, Justice Gilliland added a 54, Brock Thalls shot 61 and Daniel Taylor had a 69.
TRACK AND FIELD
Hauser boys win
HOPE — The Hauser boys won a dual meet with Morristown 71-50, while the Yellow Jackets took the girls meet 83-38.
Aleck Lopez won the long jump (18 feet, 9 1/2 inches) and 400 meters (55.8 seconds), Forest Steele took the 110 hurdles (18.1) and 300 hurdles (49.0) and Colin Kistler captured the 1,600 (5:20.0) and 3,200 (11:33.0) to lead the Jet boys. Alex Bower won the high jump (5-0), Cameron Scott took the discus (92-3) and Hauser captured the 4×400 relay (3:56.0).
For the girls, Carly Beeker won the 100 hurdles (18.0), Marnie Schwartzkopf took the 800 (2:40.2) and the Jets captured the 4×100 relay (1:01.0).
