North student wins Innovate regional

A Columbus North High School student has won the Innovate WithIN competition for the East Central Indiana Region 4 finals.

Trey Nebergall won the regional competition with his company Aspire Group LLC, which provides professional photography, videography, drone and 3D virtual tour services to real estate agents to help them market their listings online.

Second place went to Emma Folz, who is home-schooled, for The Paper Rose Design Co. Her business idea is a lettering and digital design company for home, lifestyle and business. She, too, has already launched the business where her work may be viewed on Instagram at @the.paper.rose.design.co.

The competition, which offers up to $100,000 in cash prizes, mentorship opportunities and in-state college tuition assistance, has added more than $19 million in potential scholarships from 11 Indiana schools.

The regional prize is $1,000 and Nebergall will now compete at 2 p.m. June 19 for the state competition. Students will compete to win $10,000 to continue building their business, $10,000 in a 529 plan for college expenses and $5,000 toward an entrepreneurial immersion trip experience.
