COLUMBUS, INDIANA
Dean Floyd, 61, of Columbus, Indiana, passed away at his residence at 5:30 AM Thursday, April 29, 2021. Dean was born on November 20, 1959, in Columbus, Indiana; he is the son of the late Alfred Dean Floyd and Wilma Jean Floyd.
Dean lived in Columbus his entire life. He was employed at The Jackson Group in Indianapolis. His entire career was spent in the printing business. He graduated from Columbus North High School in 1978 and Attended Vincennes University. His greatest joy was helping raise his grandson Jackson and spending time with his daughters Lauren and Rachel. He loved his dogs, Harley and Bennie. Dean also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with friends. He played golf and, in his earlier years, was an avid softball player.
The service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at Jewell ~ Rittman Family Funeral Home, with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Garland Brook Cemetery.
He is survived by his daughter, Rachel Dean Floyd; sisters, Deanna ( David ) Kay Mobley of Omaha, Nebraska; Nephew, Christopher Mobley, as well as a grandson, Jackson Dean Floyd.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Lauren Marie Floyd.
Services were entrusted to the Jewell ~ Rittman Family Funeral Home.
