Driver arrested on multiple warrants after traffic stop

Robertson

COLUMBUS, Ind. — A local man was arrested on multiple warrants Tuesday after officers discovered the vehicle he was driving was falsely registered.

At approximately 4:10 p.m., CPD officers attempted to stop a Pontiac Grand Prix that was falsely registered in the 700 block of Jonesville Road, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

The driver of the vehicle, who was later identified as Brian D. Robertson, 31, of Columbus, pulled into a nearby parking lot and then attempted to drive away from officers but was blocked in by a second CPD patrol car, Harris said.

It was determined a short time later that Robertson had three active warrants for his arrest out of Bartholomew County.

Robertson was placed under arrest and transported to the Bartholomew County Jail where he was cited for operating a vehicle that was falsely registered and remanded for the three Bartholomew County warrants, Harris said.
