Flood advisory issued for Bartholomew County, surrounding counties

INDIANAPOLIS — The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a flood advisory for northern Bartholomew County, and several surrounding counties.

They include:
South Central Morgan County in central Indiana…
Northern Brown County in south central Indiana…
Northern Monroe County in south central Indiana…
East Central Owen County in west central Indiana…

The warning is in effect until 9:30 a.m.

At 6:18 a.m., doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have
fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Columbus, Spencer, Hope, Morgantown, Gosport, Clifford,
Stinesville, Beanblossom, Helmsburg, Spearsville, Lake Lemon,
Taylorsville, McCormicks Creek State Park and Newbern.

Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area.
This additional rain will result in minor flooding.

Bartholomew County Emergency Management is reminding residents to be aware of their surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
