Bob Jones University students named to dean’s list
GREENVILLE, S.C. — The following local students are among approximately 800 Bob Jones University students named to the dean’s List for the spring 2021 semester:
— Katherine Aird, of Columbus, freshman, music major
— Faith Boardman, of North Vernon, senior cinema production major
The dean’s list recognizes students who earn a 3.00-3.74 grade point average during the semester.
Locals make Olivet Nazarene dean’s list
Three Columbus natives were recently named to Olivet Nazarene University’s dean’s list for the spring 2021 semester.
To qualify for inclusion on the dean’s list, a student must have been enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student and must have attained a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.0 grading scale.
Alex Gross, Hannah Gross, and Ashlyn Mills all received the honor.
Major inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma
GREENCASTLE — Joshua Major, of Columbus, has been recognized as part of the DePauw-record 103 student-athletes having earned induction into the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society this year and is among the over 700 Tigers student-athletes to be recognized since the organization was founded at DePauw in 1996.
Chi Alpha Sigma is a nonprofit organization established to recognize college student-athletes who earn a varsity letter in at least one sport while maintaining a 3.4 or higher cumulative GPA throughout their junior and senior years.
The governing board represents all levels of competition in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
Major, a Columbus East grad, plays on Depauw’s football team.
