LAS VEGAS, NV
Eleanor Joyce Jones was born October 25, 1933 to her parents, Milford and Dorothy Arndt, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Streator, IL. Eleanor was at home sleeping peacefully when she passed from her earthly home to her heavenly home in the early morning of Thursday, April 29, 2021.
Eleanor met Ed, her husband-to-be, at Minnesota Bible College. They were married September 13, 1952.
She is survived by her husband Ed, her five boys; David, Neil, Richard, Matthew, and Christopher. She loved them with all of her heart through caring, understanding, and kindness.
She had a special place in her heart for her daughters-in-law; Deborah, Lisa, Jennifer, Tanya, Debbie, and Rhonda. Eleanor loved her grandchildren; Natalie, Jeremy, and his wife Emily, Jessica, and her husband Adrian, Christopher, Daniel, Amanda, and her husband Daniel, Edward, and his wife Abby, Ryan, Peyton, Christopher (CJ),Peri, Dylan and Bailey. Eleanor has six great-grand children; Emma, Alexandra, Adrian David, Isabella, Harrison, and Livia. She is survived by two of her sisters; Judy Rodgers, and June Ottman.
She has another sister; Betty Jo Bidner, who she is with in heaven now.
Eleanor and Ed lived in Columbus, IN from 1968 to 1978. Eleanor worked at Bartholomew County Hospital in the Radiology Department as a medical transcriptionist. Eleanor was an avid reader. She also enjoyed music, was blessed with a beautiful voice, and sang in the church choir at First Christian Church, as well as in a girl’s quartet in college. Eleanor will be greatly missed by her family, her friends, and those that knew her. She was the most generous person you could ever know.
