Memorial Day closings

All Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicle (BMV) branches will be closed through Monday. Branches will resume regularly scheduled business hours on Tuesday. For a list of branch locations and hours, to complete an online transaction, or to find a 24-hour BMV Connect kiosk, visit IN.gov/BMV.

Columbus City Hall is closed Monday.

There will be no city trash/compost/recycling or brush collections on Monday. Collections will run one day behind with Friday, June 4’s collection on Saturday, June 5. The Columbus Department of Public Works will be closed through Monday and reopen at 7 a.m. Tuesday. Toters need to be out by 7 a.m.

The Columbus City Utilities office will be closed Monday. The office will reopen on Tuesday at 8 a.m. If you have a problem with your water or sewer service, call the business office at 812-372-8861 and follow the prompts.

The Bartholomew County Courthouse and county offices are closed Monday.

The U.S. Postal Service will not have deliveries and post offices are closed Monday. Services will resume on Tuesday. The post office is open regularly scheduled hours on Saturday. Customers who wish to purchase stamps, mail packages, or ship urgent letters or packages on Monday may use the Self Service Kiosks available at select Post Offices. The ATM-like kiosk accepts credit or debit cards only and can handle about 80 percent of typical postal transactions.
