1) The free JCB Fridays on Fourth spring series continues with its food, live music and games from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday along Fourth Street in downtown Columbus. Hunter & Girton will perform music for a nice touch of atmosphere beginning at 6 p.m. The new gatherings, the product of teamwork among JCB, the Columbus Area Visitors Center and Fun On Fourth, are meant to encourage people to familiarize themselves with downtown eateries and other offerings. Information: Facebook page for JCB Fridays On Fourth.
2) If summer is nearing, you know cruise-ins are rolling in. The free First Fridays Cruise-In to Hope is slated from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday on the historic Hope Town Square. Night Owl Country Band will provide the soundtrack from 6 to 8 p.m. Prizes are for people’s choice, musician’s choice, and oldest vehicle. To-go food is available from restaurants on the square, and monetary donations will be accepted for the Community Center of Hope food bank. And of course, if the weather is hot, one big attraction of the square remains — big, cooling, shade trees, like a Norman Rockwell, summertime scene.
3) Country singer and all-around entertainer Lloyd Wood, long a favorite in Brown County years ago, will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday at The Pixy Theatre, 111 S. Walnut St. in Edinburgh. Wood is known for his comedy and colorful impersonations of artists such as Willie Nelson, George Jones, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, and Marty Robbins. Information: brownpapertickets.com/event/5092418
