COLUMBUS
Linda Marie Haislup, 64, of Columbus, passed away unexpectedly at 9:47 p.m. Friday, May 28, 2021 at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Linda was born February 5, 1957, in Puyallup, Washington, the daughter of Robert James and Greta Daugherty Thompson.
Mrs. Haislup was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and was a Registered Nurse. When she was not caring for others, Linda looked forward to spending time with her family. She enjoyed cooking for them and made incredible home cooked meals, especially lasagna. Linda liked to do arts and crafts but really loved to make cards. Listening to Jimmy Buffett and attending concerts with her husband, Jim, were among her favorite things to do. Mrs. Haislup was also a breast cancer survivor.
Survivors include her husband of over 31 years, James “Jim”; son, James “Jimmy” Haislup, both of Columbus; sister, Debbie (Mark) Richards of Indianapolis; brothers, Robert Thompson of Lincoln, NE., Greg Thompson of Seward, Georgia; several aunts, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; loving and faithful dogs, Mandy and Zoe.
The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Thursday at Barkes, Weaver and Glick on Washington Street with Ron Bridgewater officiating. Visitation will be from 2:30 p.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home. In keeping with the family’s request, cremation will take place after the funeral service.
