RENO, Nev. — Richard Lopez was a sophomore in high school when he got his first car — a 1971 Datsun 210. He had dropped out of school by the time he discovered his true love: 1961 Chevy Impalas. Before long he was creating award-winning lowrider art and today most everyone in Reno’s lowrider community knows him best as the guy that can make an unlovely jalopy into a sick bomba.
