Columbus Area Visitors Center reported a 300% spike in traffic on its Columbus website within minutes of the CBS “Sunday Morning” broadcast that centered on the city and its appeal to tourists.

Flanked by a cheering, clapping and flag-waving crowd of several thousand, the Olympic torch traveled through Bartholomew County, carried by a succession of local runners to the courthouse where a 5-foot-high cauldron was ignited.
