Joy was born in San Diego, California, October 10, 1945, the loving daughter of Guy and Lenore Irle Preston.
Joy was a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Columbus. Her love of animals was shown through her involvement in competitively showing Golden Retrievers. Joy obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Services Counseling and minor in Substance Abuse from Martin University of Indianapolis in 1990. She spent numerous years providing care throughout the surrounding area in countless roles.
Joy valued nothing more than visits from her family, especially when they would bring a McDonald’s Diet Coke and freshly made cookies. She also enjoyed the garden tours at the Inn at Irwin Gardens. She had a strong influence for all things country western, which was shared with her family values.
