Connie S. Jessee

Connie S. Jessee, 69, of Hope passed away Thursday July 15, 2021 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis.

Born January 18, 1952 in Columbus she was the daughter of Robert K. and Margaret Joan Giddens Weinantz. She graduated from Columbus High School in 1970, then went on to get a degree at Vincennes University. She married Jimmy D. Jessee May 7, 1977 and he survives.

Other survivors include children, Kevin (Tara) Jessee of Edinburgh and Melinda (Brian) Barriger of Hope; grandchildren, Rilee, Regann, Ryker, and Ryston Jessee of Edinburgh and Maylee, Addyson, Jake, Nate, Ryan and Yogi Barriger of Hope; brothers, Rick K. Weinantz of Edinburgh and Randy K. (Luann) Weinantz of Edinburgh; mother in law, Veola Jessee of Hope; nephews, Ben Weinantz of Colorado and Gary and Greg Weinantz of Hope; brother in law, Darrell (Mae) Jessee of Hope; aunts Judy Droddy of Edinburgh and Carolyn (Omer) Weintraut of Waldron and several cousins.

The funeral for Connie will be Tuesday at noon at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with Mike Hankins officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7 pm and Tuesday one hour prior to the service at Norman Funeral Home. Burial will be at Hawcreek Cemetery.

Connie was previously employed at Option Care in the billing department and Bar-Cons Credit Union as a teller. She was also employed at her family’s restaurant called Weinantz Food and Spirits.

Connie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hope. She loved counted cross stitch and had accomplished numerous projects through the years for family and friends. She was a long time Hauser Athletic enthusiast where she watched her children and grandchildren do sports. She was also a proud Columbus East Volleyball grandma where she watched 2 of her granddaughters play. Connie also enjoyed gardening, traveling and especially loved her time spent with family.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents.
