COLUMBUS
Kimberly Nielsen, 60, of Columbus, died at 12:45 p.m., Monday, August 2, 2021, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Kimberly was born November 14, 1960 in Columbus, the daughter of Lawrence and Lorene (Perry) Nielsen.
Kimberly retired from Columbus Regional Hospital after 23 years of service in the IT department as a system engineer. She was very witty with a dry sense of humor. You never knew what she may say next. Kimberly was known for her thoughtful gifts and the ability to find that perfect gift for anyone in the family. She loved her fur babies, Cooper and Lily. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A celebration of life is planned for August 14th from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the Re/Max Real Estate Professionals located at 301 1st Street Columbus, IN 47201.
Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation through the funeral home.
Survivors include her father, Lawrence; sisters, Natalie (James Martoccia) Byrd of Columbus and Lisa Johnson of Hope. Kimberly is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews that she was very fond of and loved them as if they were her very own.
She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Candis, her mother, Lorene and a nephew, Ethan Nielsen.
Services were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
