Robert Vincent Casey, age 42 of Baker, FL passed away from COVID 19 complications on August 9th, 2021. Robert was the son of Shawn and Linda Casey, former long-time residents of Bartholomew County.
Robert is survived by his wife Shannon and sons Joshua and Jacob Casey. Robert was a 1997 graduate of Saint Charles High School in Saint Charles, IL and also graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Illinois University. He was employed by Jacobs Engineering as a Systems Architect.
Robert enjoyed designing and building computer systems as well as modifying his cars to produce as much horsepower as possible. Rob’s greatest accomplishment and source of pride was being an outstanding father to his young sons Joshua and Jacob.
Additional survivors include his parents Shawn and Linda (Rucker) Casey of Fort Walton Beach, FL, brother Ryan and sister-in-law Crystal (Cobb) Casey of Edmond, OK, grandmother Julia (Nading) Casey of Columbus, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins in Indiana, Ohio, and Florida. Robert was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Leonard and Lulu May Rucker and paternal grandparent John Casey.
A memorial service for Robert is planned for Sunday, August 22nd at 2 p.m. at Hawcreek Community Center and Cemetery, Stafford Road and County Road 900E North of Hope.
