Greg E. Craft

Greg “Fred” Craft, a Supplier Quality Manager with Cummins and a lifelong resident of Columbus, IN passed away unexpectedly on October 1, 2021 at the young age of 44 while working outside at his home.

Greg was born in Columbus on January 3, 1977 to Ned and Vonda Craft. He was a 1995 graduate of Columbus East High School where he was a standout half back on the football team. He went on to join the Marine Corp Reserves, graduating from boot camp in 1996. Greg also continued his education at Indiana University, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Labor and Industrial Relations. Prior to joining Cummins, he spent 15 years at Arvin’s/AK Tube.

Greg met his beloved wife, Amy “Mimi” Craft, in 2004 and the two married January 12, 2007. When he and Amy married, he gained a new son, Tyler “Skittles” Settle, who he loved dearly and treated as his own. Greg and Amy went on to have two additional children; Gregory “Gwegs” Craft Jr in 2008 and Alana “Sissy” Craft in 2011. They were his whole world.

Greg was an amazing husband, incredible daddy, loving son, and loyal friend. He enjoyed planning cross country motorhome adventures with his family. Greg and his family had visited 35 states so far and made unforgettable memories. He also enjoyed attending late model races and also continued to support Columbus East Football as an alumni.

Greg is also survived by his sister, Kristie Leonard, as well as many other family members. He also leaves behind lifelong friends Timmy Boes, Andy Rager, Chad Schuette, Andy Speer, and Josh Blanton.

A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00pm on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Myers-Reed Chapel in Columbus, IN. Friends and family may also visit on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 from 4:00-8:00pm.

A scholarship fund will be setup in Greg’s memory to be awarded annually to a graduating Columbus East Football student-athlete. Donations to this scholarship fund can be made through the funeral home.
