Darlene Romine Gabbard Watson

Darlene Romine Gabbard Watson, 74, of Elizabethtown passed away Friday October 8, 2021 at Franciscan Health Hospital.

Born May 2, 1947 in Columbus, Darlene was the daughter of Warren L. and Dora Stephens Romine. She married Stephen Gabbard on July 2, 1966 and he preceded her in death on May 30, 2009. She then married Philip E. Watson August 27, 2011 and he preceded her in death November 13, 2017.

Darlene was a member of the Living Word Bible Church in Indianapolis.

She enjoyed bowling, gardening and loved taking care of her grandchildren.

Darlene’s funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with Pastor Mark Woodard officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be donated to the American Cancer Society.

Survivors include children, Stephanie (Everett) McCormick of Greenwood, Barbara Kennedy of Elizabethtown, Amy (Scott) Miller of Taylorsville, and Stephen (Lynsie) Gabbard of Mooresville; grandchildren, Meghann Whitlow of Greenwood, Jeremy Hadley of Greenwood, Casey McCormick of Edinburgh, Dustin Burton of Elizabethtown, Zachary Miller of Taylorsville, Brooklyn McCormick of Greenwood, Jasmine Cunningham of Greenwood and Katie Maciag of Greenwood; great-grandchildren, Ayden, Avery, Adreanna, Kayana, Jayden, Makenna and Charlotte; siblings, Jackie (Fred) Burton of Edinburgh and Lori (Jeff) Voyles of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stephen; husband, Philip; daughter, Camala Bunger; twin great-grandchildren, Brayden and Hayden Miller; brother, Gary Romine; and son in law, Jim Kennedy.
