Judith ‘Judy’ Kay McDougal

ELLETTSVILLE

Judith (Judy) Kay (Walls)(Livingston) McDougal, age 79, sadly, passed away from this realm, surrounded by her family, on Friday, October 22, 2021.

Judy was born on April 13, 1942 and raised at the family farm in Gosport, Indiana. Judy attended Stinesville schools where she was a cheerleader and played percussion in the Stinesville High School band. She was one of I.U. sports biggest fans. Her and husband Leon had season tickets to both men’s & women’s basketball as well as men’s football for many years. Her favorite seat for football games was directly across the aisle from I.U.’s Marching 100 (the best of both worlds; sports & music). Judy’s adult life started as a housewife and stay-at-home mother of 3 boys. After her first husband of 15 years, Dean Livingston, passed away, she remarried a few years later to Leon McDougal and they were married for 42 years prior to Leon’s passing in 2020. Judy worked as an office manager in several different industries in Columbus, Indiana to include dentistry, banking & real estate before retiring.

Judy dearly loved her family and friends and graciously organized and hosted well attended Thanksgiving dinners for many years. She was everyone’s go-to person for home decorating, cake decorating, flower arranging and many other crafts and sewing. She was asked by a prominent builder in Columbus, Indiana to decorate their home that was entered into a home-show display and competition where she was awarded the ‘People’s Choice Award’ (voted on by the general public) for Best Decorated Home.

Judy was preceded in death by her mother Lillie Walls, father William (Bill) Walls, step-mother Edith (Prather) Walls, brothers Steve Walls & Ralph Fulford and husbands, Dean Livingston & Leon McDougal.

Judy is survived by her sister Sharon Gater, sons David (Dolly) Livingston of Franklin, IN, Don (Millie) Livingston of Greene County, IN, and Dennis (Kimberly) Livingston of Muncie, IN.

Judy has 6 grandchildren, Jacob (Jenny) Livingston, Jenny (Blake) Dunn, Eric (Lauren) VanCleave, Reilly Livingston, Brynna (aka Brychan) Livingston & Keira Livingston. Judy also has eleven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, friends and her new puppy Zoe.

Judy’s wishes were to be cremated and have her ashes sprinkled at a later date. The family will have calling hours at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville, Indiana on Saturday, October 30th from 1:00-4:00 p.m.
