FLAT ROCK
Brett Allen Gosch, 59, of Flat Rock, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021, at MHP Medical Center in Shelbyville.
He was born April 9, 1962, in Shelbyville, the son of Harold Wayne and Mildred (Burns) Gosch. On June 9, 2012, he married Nancy Settles-Gosch, and she survives.
In addition to Nancy, Brett is survived by his daughter, Samantha Settles and husband, Christopher Castaneda, of Flat Rock; like a second daughter, Alison Schaf; sister, Teresa Pruett and husband, Roy, of Columbus; brother-in-law, David Settles and wife, Sheryl, of Shelbyville; niece, Nicole Robertson; nephew, Kyle Robertson; first cousin, Paula Chappelow of Shelbyville; and many wonderful friends including, Mike Brown, Marc DeMott, Jerry Nugent and Ernie Jones. He also leaves behind his dogs, Shotgun, Cinnamon and Max.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Brett graduated in 1980 from Southwestern High School.
He was an active member of the Geneva United Methodist Church, where he served as a trustee.
Brett drove a truck for Shelby Bottle Gas, over the past 10 years. He had formerly worked for Flat Rock Ag Supply for many years and helped several of the local farmers.
He enjoyed working on the farm and fishing, gardening, lawn care, going to antique tractor shows and horse pulls.
Brett was very social and enjoyed the time he spent with his friends and family. He loved to go out to eat with family and friends. Brett also like to travel.
He will be missed by many.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at the funeral home, with Rev. Mark Dodd officiating.
Interment will be at Norristown Cemetery in Shelby County.
