Southbound lanes of I-65 near Columbus to close for accident cleanup tonight

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Indiana State Police say the southbound lanes of I-65 at the Columbus exit (exit 68) will close at 10 p.m. tonight to highway crews can complete clearing a crash scene from early Wednesday morning.

State police estimated the closure could take about six hours overnight. The closure will be the southbound lanes from the 68 mile marker at Columbus to the 64 mile marker.

Motorists planning to travel through the area late Wednesday night should plan ahead and find an alternative route, state police said. Those who live near to the road closing should be aware that extra traffic will be diverted off I-65 during the cleanup.
