the clerks at Walgreens and a customer who helped me get my groceries to the car and helped me get off of my rollator when I couldn’t get up — there are a lot of good people out there!

the ever-increasing number of onions stating the the previous administration and party continues to cover up events connected to the insurrection at our U.S. Capitol — keep them coming.

Columbus Auto Group for a wonderful afternoon at Chevrolet of Columbus, from Lincoln-Central Neighborhood Family Center.

Joe Manchin for standing up for what is right and America.

Dr. Vieira and staff for the great care they give my wife, from a grateful husband.

Gary & Kathy Wilkinson for the great meal and holiday cheer, from thankful friends.

surprising newfound admiration for Senators Dole and Isakson from a political party and the media.

the young couple with the little girl who paid for my groceries Saturday about noontime at Walmart; it was very appreciated.

the residents of Forest Park for their luminaries on Sunday evening — they were beautiful.

First United Methodist Church choir for the outstanding performance last Sunday.

the residents of Franklin Street for bringing such joy with all their Christmas lights.

Bud Herron for the brilliant Santa Claus article.

The local state senator for using a common-sense approach to bill HB 1001, contrary to the local representative who authors a bill and is putting us all at great risk.

the brave senator who values the U.S. Constitution more than the agenda of his radical colleagues.

Rohde’s Restaurant for the best breakfast in town.

the person who paid for our breakfast Monday morning at Rohde’s.

Onions to

teens wandering around at noon time vandalizing city/hospital owned property.

lunch time teens terrorizing the elderly inside the mall.

the leader of the previous administration that brought racism and hatred front and center in these un-United States.

the local representative in Congress who continues to be a joke, who got elected because he had name recognition, but fails to exhibit any courage or care to actually do the job he was elected to do.

City of Columbus mayor’s office and city engineering department who designed the roundabout on Taylor Road, the roundabout that you just fly through and do not have to go around — what kind of a roundabout is that? — it’s just an accident waiting to happen.

the white SUV that, while speeding, went through the red light on Central Avenue at National Road.

the new Taylor Road and whoever opened it — everyplace you go down it, it’s all flooded from 25th Street to Rocky Ford Road.

the previous elected official who sat and watched the Capitol under siege and did nothing, yet gets the full support of his party.

the school district that mandates masks in buildings during school hours and elementary events, but not at high school athletic events.

the onion writers who fail to understand that the healthcare crisis is not about being unprepared, it is about a community that refuses to follow the recommended precautions of masking up when not being vaccinated and/or not get vaccinated.

our COVID-infused lives, and Christmas and New Year of 2021-22, 2022-23, 2023-24 … need I go on?

all of the drivers on Taylor Road — those are turnarounds, and the city made a mistake by not making a curb in the middle, so people just fly through.

the vultures who refuse to clean up the dead raccoon that has been on the side of the 46 by the overpass and has been there for at least a month now!

anyone who refuses to protect the community by getting vaccinated and boosted. Do the right thing. The virus is the enemy.

the local high school basketball coach whose players celebrate and taunt after every made shot, throw their hands up after every foul.

our federally elected official who claims that COVID can’t be an emergency because it’s been 700 days. Pay no attention to the overflowing hospitals.

the state legislature that is trying to prevent businesses from requiring vaccine mandates while the virus is again exploding among the unvaccinated.

the elected official who has a nonchalant attitude about starving dogs to death.

the failed business leader and elected official who takes credit for the other political party’s achievements and now doesn’t list his spouse’s achievements.

the federal elected official who inherited an inflation rate of just 1.14 percent and due to failed policies now has an inflation rate close to 7 percent, a 30-year high and prices have skyrocketed for everything.

all the states that are passing voter-suppression laws.
