Bartholomew County Sheriff deputies said an Indianapolis woman died in a multi-vehicle accident at 1:29 a.m. Saturday at the 59.5 mile marker of northbound I-65.
Heather A. Wallace, 40, Indianapolis, was found dead at the scene, deputies said. Columbus Regional EMS transported multiple individuals to Columbus Regional Hospital.
Due to the size of the scene and the need for crash reconstruction units to conduct their investigation, I-65 was shut down from approximately 1:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. on Saturday. The investigation is ongoing, deputies said.
