COLUMBUS, Ind. —  Bartholomew County Emergency Management says the National Weather Service is predicting that the area could receive an inch or more of snow on Thursday as a winter storm approaches from the west.

Shannan Cooke, director of Bartholomew County Emergency Management, said the weather service has not yet issued a more detailed prediction on snowfall amounts, but temperatures Thursday night will be among the lowest of the winter season so far, along with wind chills near or below zero.

Emergency management officials said they will continue to monitor the weather and update as necessary as the storm approaches.
