Filings for elected state and local offices representing Bartholomew County continued this week, according to updated records from the Indiana Election Division.
Ross Thomas, a 52-year-old Columbus attorney, filed Thursday to run for the Democratic nomination for the state House of Representatives District 59 on Thursday. The seat is currently held by Republican Rep. Ryan Lauer, R-Columbus, who filed to run for re-election on Wednesday.
Other candidates, all Republicans, who have filed to run during the first week of filings include:
Indiana House of Representatives District 69: Incumbent Republican Rep. Jim Lucas, R-Seymour
Bartholomew County Council District 1: incumbent Republican Scott Bonnell, and Republicans Dave London and Greg Patterson
Bartholomew County Council District 4: Jorge Morales
Bartholomew County Commissioner District 2: Incumbent Republican Carl Lienhoop
Bartholomew County Auditor: Pia O’Connor
Bartholomew County Recorder: Tami Hines
Bartholomew County Treasurer: Barb Hackman

Wayne Township Trustee: Brenda Mijares
