A local woman was arrested on several charges after she was accused of causing a disturbance inside a garage on Friday afternoon.
At approximately 3:45 p.m., CPD officers were sent to the 2100 block of Union
Street in regards to a person destroying property inside a garage. When officers arrived they heard screaming inside the garage, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
When officers entered the property, a woman later identified as Dystiny D. Green, 31, of 3622 N. Station Drive, attempted to shut the garage door on the officers. Officers confirmed a trespass warning for Green at the Union Street property and she was taken into custody, Harris said.
Green later battered and spit on an officer while receiving medical treatment at Columbus Regional Hospital, Harris said. Green was eventually transported to the
Bartholomew County Jail where she was remanded on the following preliminary charges:
Criminal trespass
Resisting law enforcement
Intimidation
Residential entry
Battery on a law enforcement officer
Battery by bodily waste on a law enforcement officer
Green was later released from jail after her bond was set at $3,500 in the jail program that allows qualifying defendants to be released without posting bond, jail officials said
