Local man arrested on charge of dealing methamphetamine

Columbus police officers arrested a local man on a felony methamphetamine dealing warrant at his home early Wednesday morning.

At approximately 12:15 a.m., CPD officers responded to the residence in the 100 block of South Cherry Street in regards to the warrant service. Officers made entry into the home and located Roger K. Burton, 57, of 112 S. Cherry St. Burton was placed under arrest without further incident, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

While inside the home, the officers observed additional narcotics and drug paraphernalia.

Burton was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail where he was remanded on the following preliminary charges:

Bartholomew County warrant for dealing in methamphetamine, a Level 2 felony

Possession of methamphetamine

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Burton was being held without bond in the Bartholomew County Jail, jail officials said.
