Aaron James Harrod, 44 of Flat Rock, passed away Wednesday January 19, 2022 at his home from cardiac arrest.

Born September 10, 1977 in Franklin, Aaron was the son of John Dixon and Penny Ellen Howe Harrod.

Survivors include his parents, John and Penny Harrod of Flat Rock; siblings, Kimberly (James) Wheeler of Green Bay, WI, Kristy Harrod Green of Hope, John Matthew (Kristy) Harrod of Hinkley, IL, Rheadon Harrod and Russ Hollenbeck of Dale, TX and Karen (Todd) Carpenter of Brock, TX; 18 nieces and nephews; uncle Gerald and aunt Patricia Crafton of Shelbyville; and numerous cousins.

Aaron graduated from Professional Golfers Career College with an associates degree in Professional Golf Management.

He was a member of the Flat Rock United Methodist Church.

Aaron enjoyed golf outings with his nephews. He was a fan of the Green Bay Packers and auto racing. He attended the Indy 500 with family for 37 consecutive years. He was mechanically minded and could find a solution to any problem. Aaron enjoyed being outdoors in nature, especially on the beach. He loved to dance and make people laugh, and he lived life to the fullest. He also enjoyed the family tradition of cutting wood.

Aaron was a mentor and confidant to many, and his family was always his first priority.

Public visitation will be Saturday January 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope. A private family service will be held with Pastor Woody Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Norristown Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be donated directly to Wounded Warriors Project or Folds of Honor Project.

Aaron was preceded in death by grandparents, Dolph Oren and Mildred Dixon Harrod and Leonard and Helen Howe; nephew, John Thomas Humphrey; and brother-in-law, David H. green.
