David Fry // Columbus North senior swimmer
Fry won the 50-yard freestyle, finished fourth in the 100 butterfly and swam on the second-place 200 freestyle relay nad 400 freestyle relay teams to lead the Bull Frogs to a runner-up team finish in the Conference Indiana meet.
His performance last week: “I was pretty happy with all the time drops. I was due for a time drop, so I was happy to get one, and I was happy to get the win for the team.”
Do you do anything special to prepare? “I might listen to some music or just hang out with the team. I try to not think about it too much.”
Favorite drink: “Chocolate milkshakes”
Favorite food: “Any kind of pasta”
Favorite class: “Anything with Social Studies”
Favorite sports team: “Indiana University”
Favorite athlete: “Mike Tyson”
Role model: “My dad (Aaron Fry).”
Best advice: “Nobody is perfect. Just do the best you can.”
Athletics goal: “Looking forward to trying to get as many of my teammates as we can to state this year.”

Gabby Johns
Johns led the Jets with 14 points and 10 rebounds in a 49-35 loss to Morristown, setting the school’s single-season rebounding record. She added 14 points and seven rebounds in Friday’s 46-36 win at Shawe Memorial.
Her performance last week: “I just went out there, and I wanted to have fun. We were missing a few people, so there was a void, but I just wanted to make sure that my team was having fun and we were doing our best out there.”
Do you do anything special to prepare? “We just laugh a lot in the locker room and make a lot of jokes and have a lot of fun.”

Favorite food: “Honey barbecue boneless wings”
Favorite class: “Ag or AP Language”

Best advice: “To always be yourself no matter what because everybody is going to think what they want to think anyway, so just do your best and be yourself.”
