Rep. Greg Pence, R-Indiana, is seeking a third term in Congress.

On Tuesday, Pence filed for re-election in Indiana’s Sixth Congressional District, which includes most of Bartholomew County. Pence, a Columbus native, is the older brother of former Vice President Mike Pence.

“It has been an honor to fight for our Hoosier values both at home in Indiana and in Washington, and I cannot give up that fight now,” Pence said in a statement. “Now more than ever the hard-working Americans of Indiana’s Sixth District need someone who will be a voice for them over all of the political noise — and that’s why I am running for re-election. I am ready to serve again.”

Currently, Rep. Pence will face Zach Smith in the GOP primary. Smith, a Union County resident, filed to run on the Republican ticket on Monday.
