Girls basketball, swimming sectional events postponed

Several postseason and regular-season events scheduled for Wednesday and today have been postponed or canceled because of the impending winter storm.

Hauser’s first-round girls basketball sectional game against Jac-Cen-Del at Waldron that was scheduled for Wednesday was been moved to 6 p.m. Thursday. If that game and the other remaining first-round game cannot be played today, it would be pushed back to Friday, and if unable to play on Friday, it would be moved to Saturday, with the Hauser vs. Jac-Cen-Del game starting at 6 p.m.

Brown County’s first-round girls basketball sectional game against Northview at Northview that was scheduled for Wednesday has been moved to 6 p.m. Friday. The semifinals now will be on Saturday, and the sectional final will be Tuesday.

The Columbus North girls swimming sectional preliminaries that were scheduled for Thursday  have been moved to 1 p.m. Saturday. The finals now will be at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The diving prelims, semifinals and finals still will be contested on Saturday.

At the Floyd Central girls swimming sectional, where Jennings County is competing, the preliminaries have been moved from Thursday to Friday. The finals still are scheduled for Saturday.

Columbus East’s regular-season boys basketball game at Brownstown Central scheduled for Thursday has been canceled. Columbus North’s boys basketball game at South Decatur scheduled for Thursday has been moved to Monday with a 6 p.m. JV start, followed by the varsity.

Hauser’s boys basketball game scheduled for Thursday at Southwestern (Shelby) has been moved to Saturday with a noon JV start, followed by the varsity. The Jets game at South Dearborn scheduled for Saturday has been moved to Feb. 12, with a 1 p.m. JV start, followed by the varsity.

The Trinity Lutheran at Greenwood Christian Academy boys basketball game scheduled for Thursday has been postponed to Feb. 24.

Columbus North’s home gymnastics meet against Seymour scheduled for Thursday has been moved to Feb. 17 and will be held in Seymour with a 6:30 p.m. start.
