Gross named NAIA, CCAC Player of Week

BOURBANNAIS, Ill. — Olivet Nazarene center Alex Gross has been named Player of the Week by both the NAIA and Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference for the second time in three weeks.

Gross, a fifth-year senior from Hauser, recorded his second triple-double of the season with 37 points, 17 rebounds, 10 blocked shots and eight assists in a 117-61 against Judson. He also had 27 points and 16 rebounds in a 90-72 victory against Calumet and added 27 points and 15 rebounds in Saturday’s 101-75 win at Trinity Christian.

Gross, who has been named CCAC Player of the Week six times this season, leads the NAIA with 14.1 rebounds a game, 380 total rebounds and 93 blocks. He ranks second with 3.4 blocks a game, fourth with 239 field goals, fifth with 147 assists and 11th with 22.0 points a game.

The 13th-ranked Tigers are 25-3 and lead the CCAC at 19-1 with two games remaining before the CCAC Tournament.
