Tommy Morrill // Columbus East junior wrestler
Morrill won his first three matches before falling in the 220-pound final to finish second at the Evansville Semistate.
His performance last week: “I feel like I definitely could have won my finals match. I needed a takedown in the last period. I felt like I could have got it and kind of messed that up. In my other matches, I was able to maintain a good steady pace the whole time.”
Do you do anything special to prepare? “A lot of the game for me is mental, so I need to get into a mindset of, ‘You’ve got this. You’re better than this guy. You know how to beat this guy. You’ve beaten this guy before.’ I like to hype myself up in my head to make sure that I will end up winning the match in the end.”
