William V. ‘Curly’ Patterson

NORTH VERNON

William V. “Curly” Patterson, 95, of North Vernon, passed away at 9:58 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Majestic Care in North Vernon.

Born November 27, 1926, in Russell County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late William M. and Alta (Rexroat) Patterson. He married Barbara Jean (Sparks) Patterson on July 19, 1947, in North Vernon; she survives.

Curly was a U.S. Veteran that had served for 18 months during World War II. He owned and operated Pat’s Dry Cleaners in North Vernon and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in North Vernon.

Surviving with his wife is his son, Rick (Barb) Patterson of North Vernon; daughter, Phyllis (Gary) Martin of Zenas; grandchildren, Chad (Dawn) Martin and Carrie (Jon) Roscoe, both of Zenas, and Todd (Melissa) Patterson and Trevor (Stacey) Patterson, both of North Vernon; and great grandchildren, Austin Roscoe, McKenna Roscoe, Matlyn Martin, and Luke Martin, all of Zenas, and Nicholas Patterson, Gracie Patterson, Abigail Patterson, Darrell Patterson, Lilie Patterson, all of North Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Lendal and Leon Patterson.

A funeral service for Curly will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at the First Church of the Nazarene in North Vernon with Rev. Jim Terry officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp &Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Memorials may be made in Curly’s honor through the funeral home to Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana.
