INDOT to close Tannehill Road April 1 for bridge replacement

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY — Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Milestone Contractors LP plans to close Tannehill Road (County Road 650N) on or after Friday, April 1, to begin work on a $2 million superstructure replacement project over I-65 in Bartholomew County.

Prior to the closure, nightly lane closures will take place on both directions of I-65 at the overpass (near mile marker 75) to set barrier wall, closing the inside and outside shoulders. This work is planned overnight on Wednesday, March 30, and Thursday, March 31, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Once the overpass is closed, rolling slow-downs will occur between 9 p.m. on Saturdays and 11 a.m. on Sundays during the first two weekends in April (April 2-3, April 9-10) for overhead demolition work.

Tannehill Road is expected to reopen by the end of October. Traffic will be detoured to County Road 280W., County Road 700W/Heflon Park Road, and U.S. 31 during construction.

INDOT reminds drivers to use extra caution, avoid distractions, and consider worker safety when traveling through active construction zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
