DOWNTOWN COLUMBUS STORYWALK, downtown Columbus. The story begins in the window of Hoosier Sporting Goods at 611 Washington St. Follow the windows south to Third Street, and then head north to Viewpoint Books.

BLACKWELL PARK STORYWALK, Blackwell Park, 1550 Whitney Court, Columbus. Enjoy some fresh air while strolling the Bartholomew County Public Library’s StoryWalk. Together with the Columbus Parks and Recreation Department, the library is excited to bring you “Pokko y el Tambor (Pokko and the Drum)” by Matthew Forsythe in March and “The Things About Bees” by Shabazz Larking in April. The StoryWalk is located along the People Trail near the Pollinator Park in Blackwell Park.

NATIONAL CONGRESS OF OLD WEST SHOOTIST NATIONAL CONVENTION, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., March 25-27, The Seasons Lodge and Conference Center, 560 E. State Road 46, Nashville. Friday morning at 9 a.m. seminars begin on a variety of Old West topics. The opening ceremony is Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. in the conference center with the presentation of the colors. There will be a display and sale, with vendors selling clothing, firearms, leather, books, period collectibles and more. Sunday morning, the convention will end with a worship service at 11:30 a.m. in the vendor hall. Single-day tickets to the seminars and vendor area are available at the door. HAWPATCH-HAWCREEK FISH FRY, 5 to 7 p.m., March 26, Hawpatch Hawcreek Conservation Club, N. County Road 900E, Hope. Hawpatch-Hawcreek Conservation Club will have its annual fish fry, membership drive, and raffle at the Clubhouse behind Schaefer Lake at Hope. Serving will be from 5 to 7 p.m. followed by Club Raffle. Cost of meal is $10 for adults and $8 for ages 12 and under. Tickets sold at the door. Carry-out service will be available. Annual club membership ($30) is available with indoor archery practice range open 24/7 for Club members.

Galleries, museums, exhibits

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY, 524 Third St., Columbus. The museum reopened on March 22, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. BCHS hosts two permanent exhibits that share the history and heritage of Bartholomew County. Learn about our county through interactive, hands-on exhibits that include a map table, notable people, county timeline, Then and Now, Did you Know, early industrialists and videos of Reeves steam engines. The historical society also hosts rotating exhibits throughout the year featuring items from their extensive collection. Information: 812-372-3541, bartholomewhistory.org.

GALLERY 506, Columbus Indiana Visitors Center, 506 Fifth St., Columbus. Open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Gary Anderson presents his exhibit of collages. The exhibit is open until April 30.

YELLOW TRAIL MUSEUM/VISITOR CENTER, west side of Hope Town Square at 644 Main St., Hope. YELLOW TRAIL MUSEUM SUNDAY SOCIALS, 2 to 4 p.m., first Sunday of each month. All are welcome to have coffee and join in discussions about various topics from the community’s past, including stories about growing up in the communities of Hope, Hartsville, Clifford and St. Louis Crossing. Folks are encouraged to bring news articles and photos. All topics are welcome, but any special stories about businesses around the square will be highlighted for the historic walking tour. ATTERBURY-BAKALAR AIR MUSEUM, located at Columbus Municipal Airport, 4742 Ray Boll Blvd., Columbus, is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
