Tax bills to go out Thursday

Bartholomew County 2022 tax bills are set to be mailed Thursday from the Bartholomew County Treasurer’s office.

County Treasurer Barb Hackman said tax bills are only sent out once a year for payment of both installments. Spring installment will be due May 10 and fall installment will be due Nov. 10.

There are several payment options available for taxpayers.

Options include:

Mail: Send payment to the Bartholomew County Treasurer, P.O. Box 1986, Columbus, IN 47202. It must be postmarked by the due date to be considered on time.

In person: Stop in at the county Government Office Building, 440 Third St., Suite 103, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Drop box: There are two 24-hour drop boxes in the Government Office Building, 440 Third St. One is on Third Street across from the Crump Theater and the second is on Franklin Street near the back entrance to the building.

Banks: Several banks located in Bartholomew County accept payments prior to the due date. They include Centra Credit Union, First Financial Bank, Jackson County Bank, Horizon Bank and German American Bank.

Online banking or by phone: Taxpayers may pay by credit or debit card or e-check at bartholomew.in.gov (paperless billing). To pay by phone, call 844-278-9126. Note, a convenience fee will be assessed.
