COLUMBUS, Ind. — The community was welcomed to the annual interdenominational Community Good Friday Service, with the theme “Were You There?” at noon Friday at The Commons. The Ecumenical Assembly of Bartholomew County Churches organized the event that attracts people from sometimes as many as 25 or more churches.

A group of local Christians portrayed a variety of costumed Biblical characters reacting to the crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth via a series of monologues written by the Ecumenical Assembly’s worship committee.
