CPD seeks tips in overnight shooting in area of 15th Street

Republic file photo Columbus police officers have been cleared by special prosecutors following an investigation into allegations that CPD officers worked hours overlapping with private security work at Columbus Regional Hospital.

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Columbus police officers and detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred in Columbus overnight.

At approximately 2:20 a.m. Tuesday, CPD officers responded to the 800 block of 15th Street after receiving several 911 calls in regards to shots fired, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

When the officers arrived on scene, they observed that a house and several parked cars in the area had been struck by gunfire. No injuries were reported.
