Long, Pittman win GOP primary for Hope Council

After first being elected in the early 1990s, Clyde Compton will be stepping down from the Hope Town Council at the end of the year.

Two female challengers won the Republican nomination to seek two open seats on the five-member council this fall.

Shanon Pittman, who works as the food service director for the Flat Rock-Hawcreek School Corp. garnered the most votes, while Stephanie Long, the president of Indiana Custom Fabrication and co-founder of the charitable Student’s Fund of Hope, came in second.

Pittman and Long will have their names on the November ballots, as well as Democrat Jerry Bragg, who was unopposed in the primary.
